Read.

Books, books, books. All of our go-to written resources recommended for rehearsals and further education. Be sure to support local bookstores and BIPOC owned companies where you can!

Watch.

Our favorite places to watch incredible actors give incredible performances. As we always say — Shakespeare should be seen — not read. So go watch something!

Listen.

All our favorite podcasts to listen to. Everything from educational podcasts, to our very own cocktail and conscious-casting focused pod!

For the decolonization of ourselves and industry.

We at Foolish believe that ignorance is not bliss. We believe in order to institute change we must first look inward and deconstruct ourselves. AND we believe that only when we face our inherent racism and understand how it adds to systematic inequality- can we truly begin to decolonize this craft and move toward a just and equitable society. The following are just some resources to begin what will be a long and just journey.

Passing Strange: Shakespeare, Race, and Contemporary America by Ayanna Thompson

Theatre & Interculturalism by Rick Knowles

Theatre & Race by Harvey Young

The Theatre of Black Americans by Errol Hill
